Q. What checks should I make if I have low pressure alert?

The following checks should be undertaken in the event of a low-pressure alert.

  1.       Is their power to the pump? If the pump is not working then insufficient air will is being delivered to the mattress.
  2.       Is air escaping from the CPR valve? If the CPR is left partially opened air will escape thus lowering the pressures contained within the mattress.
  3.       Is air escaping from the tube set to pump connector?  If air is leaking from the tubeset connector then insufficient air will be delivered to the mattress.
  4.       Is air escaping from an air cell or an internal tubeset. A minute puncture or leak within the mattress will mean insufficient air being produced / contained within the mattress.
